Cocooned amongst the cove’s towering rock formations, your sole but private audience, Kynance Cove is one of the most romantic places to propose in Cornwall. Located on the spectacular Lizard Peninsula, this jaw-dropping spot delivers every inch of wow you want for a secret wedding proposal to impress.
What could be more romantic than endless views out to sea from your own tranquil cove on the best of the Cornish coast? Soft, powdery white sand underfoot touched only by you two, with nothing but the gentle lapping of the foam-topped, aqua-blue Cornish sea to interrupt you both.
Delivering rousing views out to sea in every direction from the UK’s most southerly point, a proposal at Kynance Cove is a reminder that life is so beautiful so much of the time and anything is possible – especially when you’ve got each other.

Yours to indulge, monumental Kynance Cove. Your own piece of one of the UK’s finest, most famous beaches, will be a place you can return to time and time again to remember this moment once more.
Hidden between the pretty wildflower-topped serpentine rocks, the best preserved in the country, with nothing but ancient natural beauty insight you can relish this special time together in whatever way you choose.
Where to propose? Head up to the top of the rocks with the salty sea breeze running through your hair, wander down amongst the sand with gleefully-free bare feet or kneel at the exact point where the bravest, foamy reaches of the sea meet the first grains of sand. Wherever you choose to propose in Kynance Cove – it will be perfect – this is one of the most picturesque, most photographed places in Cornwall!

Kynance Cove sits on the renowned Lizard Peninsula, an Area of Outstanding Beauty, on the South Cornish coast. Positioned in the final reaches of the country where the English Channel meets the Celtic Sea, Lizard is a significant, historical location in St Ives with settlements dating back to the Doomsday Book and a deliciously mild climate.
Home to the UK’s best-preserved rock stacks, Lizard National Nature Reserve and endless natural beauty, it’s here amongst the cliffs, grasslands, caves, valleys and moors that rare wildflowers and wildlife, such as the chough, make their home.
Just across the water, lie Guernsey, Jersey, Brest and more. On either side, you have St Ives, Penzance, Falmouth, and the River Helston – all of Cornwall’s finest.
One of the most famous places in Cornwall, Kynance was a favourite destination of Queen Victoria. The Cove and surrounding area have inspired: famous novelists such as Daphne du Maurier, poets such as Tennyson, and films and television series such as the BBC’s Coast and Seven Natural Wonders.
It’s enough to sit, absorb and revel in the beauty together accompanied by a tasty picnic or even a mini barbecue. Alternatively, head further into St Ives and you’ll find so much to do.
Take the amazing South West Coast Path to drink in beautiful local scenery– you’ll probably spot a few native choughs nestled amongst the heathers and ferns. For a mouthwatering cream tea, climb the steps to the very top of the cliffs for a cream tea at the Kynance Cove Eco Beach Café.
Or journey into St Ives where you’ll find more of the country’s best beaches accompanied by every type of watersport, including surfing, jet skiing, coasteering and paddleboarding. For culture, there are Tate St. Ives, boutique galleries, celeb chef restaurants, wineries, farm shops, craft breweries, museums, castles, stately homes and more.
For big thrills try ziplining, abseiling or go-karting. Or enjoy a more gentle experience at Seal Island, on the St Ives Railway, at the aquarium or simply sit by the water’s edge and drink in the sea views – together.
For places to stay there’s everything from sweet cottages to chic boutique hotels, glamping, romantic treehouses, tipis and yurts.
That’s the beauty of a wedding proposal in Kynance Cove – anything is possible.
