Location photographs in Truro

Location | Boscawen Park

I have photographed these sisters, Maisy, Isobel and Freya, before in the studio, but this time Sarah wanted to update her pictures for the home so we decided to go with location photographs in Truro.

The kids enjoy playing at Boscawen Park so I arrived 30 minutes prior to the session to have a good look at the location. This was at the start of our recent spell of lovely weather so it was very warm which meant the park was very busy therefore it was hard to find some shade without people in the background.

Adjacent to the park are some beautifully located houses overlooking the river Fal so I thought I would have a look there for some inspiration. I soon found a car port, yes, a car port, not the most glamorous of locations but the natural light was amazing.

So with the aid of two reflectors one of which was being held by Sarah, mum, I set about an unexpected shoot. Every little helps, so I had the girls who weren’t in shot to stand behind me making faces and being silly to make those in shot laugh and smile. It worked brilliantly.
