Falmouth Hotel wedding
Cornwall wedding Photographer | Paul Keppel
Two weeks ago I shot the wonderful Falmouth Hotel wedding of Ian and Natalie. Being a friend of Ian’s, it was a total pleasure to be asked to document his special day.
This was actually my first Falmouth Hotel wedding that had both the ceremony and reception being held at the hotel. This is great as the bride and groom not only have more time to spend with their guest’s but there are also more photo opportunities throughout the day.
As usual, my day started with the bridal preparation at the bride’s parent’s house in Falmouth. We were lucky with the weather as the days leading up to the wedding day had not been the driest to say the least.
The ceremony was lovely and included a reading from Ian and Natalie’s daughter, Myah (with a little help from Ian’s brother, Simon) and another from Natalie’s good friend, Carrie. Then followed drinks on the terrace and group shots with the stunning backdrop of Pendennis Castle and almost 180 degrees of sea view.
We then took full advantage of the beautiful gardens that the Falmouth Hotel has to offer for some photographs of the newly weds. As 2013 marks the 150th anniversary of the Falmouth Hotel, there was a lot of bunting, around the grounds which added colour to some of the photographs.
After the meal we had the speeches, and Natalie’s father set the bar high writing a poem for Natalie. Then followed some humorous speeches from Ian and his best man, Steve.
After the speeches, everybody moved into the bar so that the room could be made ready for the evening’s entertainment. At our pre wedding meeting Ian and Natalie had said that they really wanted some photographs down on the beach so we headed over the road to Castle Beach.
Here is a selection of personal favourites from Ian’s and Natalie’s Falmouth Hotel wedding.
