Congratulations to Mike and Charlotte on their wedding at Pendennis Castle. This was my first winter wedding in Cornwall which saw us start with the bridal/groom prep at Mylor.
The weather leading up to the wedding was pretty awful to say the least. The groom was wading up to his knees in water at 5am as the high tide flooded the Mylor car park 2 nights before the wedding. In addition it was forecasting heavy rain for most of the wedding day.
The day ran perfectly and we managed to dodge all the showers and there was even had a rainbow that made a short appearance.
Mike and Charlotte live in London but Mike holidayed in Mylor during his childhood and wanted their wedding in Mylor church.
Mike & Charlotte enjoy spending time on their boat at Mylor marina so it was fitting that we took the guys out onto the pontoons to grab some photographs next to the boats. After a very quick photo session we headed back up to the King Harry coaches so that everybody could be taken to the castle.
On arriving at Pendennis Castle all the guests headed over to the Keep for some mulled wine and canapés to warm themselves up. There was surprise music from The Sea Shanty singers who were dressed as the cast from ” ‘Allo ‘Allo” as they were heading to their Christmas party straight after the wedding.
The Pendennis barracks looked amazing with a nautical themed room and blue accent lights. After the wedding breakfast there were some funny speeches but also some emotional ones as Mike’s best man was knocked off his bike the day before the wedding but sent his congratulations via an answer phone message from hospital.
The evening ended with the cake cutting and first dance which saw Mike and Charlotte choreograph a small routine.
