Trevenna Barns Wedding
Marc and Claire’s wedding is the second wedding I’ve photographed in a lovely setting at Trevenna Barns, St Neot, Bodmin.
Marc and Claire are from Chelmsford in Essex, and being out of county enlisted the help of Sarah Gillett, Wedding Guru from Perfect Preparation Limited to organise their wedding. Sarah personally chose their venue after they gave her full control with a few sample pictures of the design they wanted. Sarah knowing my expertise after working with her at a number of other weddings asked me to do the wedding photography. Their wedding was the first time I met them and that they saw the wedding venue.
The brief Claire gave me was that they wanted their wedding photographing in relaxed and unobtrusive way. This is great as I love looking for moments to capture in a photojournalistic way but I am adaptable to what style any couple would wish for their day.
The day started with photographing the finer details, and there were a lot of details. The table display’s looked amazing and I’ve never seen so many flowers at a wedding before. The florist Phillip Taylor Corps did an amazing job with his flower designs and again these were from a selection of pictures taken from the Cosmopolitan Magazines Editor’s wedding.
Following the design photographs I took photographs of the Bride and bridesmaids getting ready. Claire looked amazing in her non traditional low cut back wedding dress and I got to photograph my first pair of Jimmy Choo shoes.
The guys at the wedding looked very smart in tuxedo’s and box ties and Marc and Claire’s boys dressed the same but sporting converse one star trainers.
The Weather for the day wasn’t looking too great and anybody that lives in Cornwall knows that Bodmin Moor seems to have its own microclimate. It can be sunny on both coasts yet raining on the Moor. However, the sun stayed out all day which made it great day as Clare’s dream was to marry under a white rose arch that was hand made specifically to design by Phillip and a white rose petal isle. The wedding took place on the lawn in front of the barns with the reception in the purpose built marquee.
The ceremony was beautiful and with some very different vows “ you are awesome” was one of the unconventional wedding vows along with the inscription in the rings “A deals a deal”.
Most of the guest travelled down from Essex, with the exception of one late arrival. A true West Ham Fan, who couldn’t miss the Play offs at Wembley but didn’t want to miss the evening part of the wedding, arrived by helicopter, which landed in the field next to the wedding.
It was an absolute pleasure to capture their big day and I hope they love the wedding album.
