Steve and Nikki’s wedding at the Lugger Hotel was on Thursday, the weather running up to the wedding was some of the wettest day’s I’ve seen, yet the week of the wedding we had some amazing weather with temperatures hitting 28’c.
This the second time I’ve been asked to photograph at Lugger Hotel wedding so it was really nice to be at back in Portloe on the beautiful Roseland Peninsula.
I have known Steve and Nikki for many years and was privileged to be asked to photograph their wedding at The Lugger Hotel. The hotel is set in a picturesque cove with a tiny harbour full of small fishing vessels.
Bridal prep photography commenced earlier with Nikki and her bridesmaids getting ready in the hotels cottage, drinking some bubbly and generally getting very excited about the wedding and the day ahead. The boys had a little swim in the sea, which I might add was freezing before they headed to Steve’s room to get ready.
The ceremony itself was wonderful, with some lovely speeches from Nikki’s mum, Steve’s dad, and one of the bridesmaids.
After the ceremony, we took full advantage of the stunning location by heading up one of the many Cornish coastal paths to get some photographs. We were very lucky to have a tall ship moored out in the bay that fired a canon, the crew cheered and waved at Steve & Nikki whilst walking up the path.
After a lovely wedding breakfast, it was time for the traditional wedding speeches, some funny and emotional. Nikki’s brother couldn’t make the wedding so was watching the wedding live from a video Skype call.
The evening brought some of the funniest photo’s I’ve ever taken, some great photos of the legendary “winno’s gurn” & “winno’s arm” which played a part in their first dance.
I wish Steve and Nikki all the best for the future and hope they have an amazing time on their honeymoon cruise.
“We both want to thank you for the amazing work you did! We are so thrilled and happy with our wedding photos. They are breathtaking and the pictures truly do tell a story of our wonderful day! We greatly appreciated your talent for capturing ourselves and our guests in a candid, yet artistic manner. Your calm approach and personality contributed to a relaxing atmosphere (on what could very easily have been a hectic day!) that we thoroughly enjoyed. You are extremely gifted and thorough and your turn around time is exceptional, not to mention you are very enjoyable to work with. Thanks again for creating memories that we can share and will last a lifetime.
We will look at them fondly for many years to come.”
