For your wedding ceremony, you’ll find a picturesque outdoor setting with an outdoor amphitheatre topped with a living willow archway through which you’ll make your dramatic entrance. Before you say your vows in the pretty wooden pavilion, you’ll walk down the aisle with grass underfoot, serene sea views ahead and sensational blue Cornish sky above, it’s the ideal setting for your wedding.
After the ceremony, you can have games laid out on the grass-covered events field and a drinks reception in the courtyard under the sail canopy. Mount Pleasant is a pet and child-friendly venue so there are all sorts of ways you can use the field throughout the day.
For your wedding breakfast, the oak Atrium is always a favourite choice, filled with lots of natural light and long tables, perfect for the tasty sharing platters or big pan meals the team create. Food is all-vegetarian or vegan with colourful combinations of delicious seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients.
For evening entertainment, the timber-framed barn is ideal. The apothecary bar serves up local ales, ciders and spirits whilst the barn comes with its own disco ball, lighting and sound system for a night to remember. The courtyard has a cob fire pit and pizza oven for additional space to gather after dark and the venue has a licence to remain open until 12.30 a.m. so there’s plenty of time for smores or wood-fired pizza under the stars.
When the night finally does come to an end, the fun doesn’t have to stop unless you want it to. You and your loved ones can stay on-site and there are plenty of lovely hotels close by for those who can’t be accommodated at the venue.
Beyond the beach, Porthtowan’s rugged coastline is ripe for exploration. The Porthtowan to Chapel Porth Circular Walk will take you along the coast and through this dazzling Cornwall Area of Outstanding Beauty. At Chapel Porth, you’ll be rewarded with the chance to enjoy an infamous Chapel Porth ice cream on the beach whilst you soak in the views.
Learn about the area’s mining history at the Wheal Coates Tin Mine or see rescue reindeer, foxes, emu, hawks, pygmy goats, owls and more at the Feadon Farm Wildlife Centre. Award-winning Feadon conservation centre is a hub of activities that everyone will enjoy, including shelter building, pond dipping, fishing, woodland cooking, animal feeding, nature walks and more.
This is the home of the UK’s best surfing so of course, you’ll want to take surf lessons on the beach and possibly throw in a spot of paddleboarding, coasteering or kayaking. Plenty of other fun can be had indoors and outdoors with everything from axe throwing to escape rooms, soft play, ice skating, roller skating and lots more close by. For the biggest thrill, head to Flambards theme park for exhilarating rides for all ages.
