Mount Edgcumbe Wedding
Mount Edgcumbe Estate, Torpoint.
Wedding Photographer Cornwall | Paul Keppel
This was my first Mount Edgcumbe wedding and I had the privilege of second shooting for my good friend Peter Bennett.
The Mount Edgcumbe wedding started with me heading over to meet Lee and his grooms men for some ‘getting ready’ shots. Lee is known for being very organised and had a time table of everything that was taking place at the wedding found some nice light on the lawn which allowed the guys to relax and talk through the day while I took some shots.
We headed just up the road to Mount Edgcumbe for the arrival of the guests. Not your normal form of transport to a wedding, as most of the guests came over by the ferry from Plymouth.
I have to say that Mount Edgcumbe has a vast number of locations for photographs. It is truly not only a bride and groom’s dream but a photographer’s dream too. The list is endless, with 865 acres of land. Seven of its acres are formal gardens, and it boasts 10 miles of coastline overlooking the Plymouth Sound.
As the Second shooter you get to photograph in a more photojournalistic way, which I do enjoy. While Pete was photographing the formals, I could take those fun shots, laughing/smiley shots as the guests let their guard down while the formals were being taken.
We even piled in the Estate’s Landrover and took a short trip around the estate to have photographs with some of the follies and lakes that the grounds have to offer. It felt like we were on safari, just waiting for monkeys to start ripping off the wiper blades. Haha
The Mount Edgcumbe wedding finished in the marquee with some humorous and emotional speeches. Then the last ferry arrived with all the evening guest and the party got into full swing with most guest on the dance floor.
As usual here is a selection of some of my favourites from Lee & Laura’s Mount Edgcumbe wedding. Please feel free to share on social media, or leave a comment.
