Wedding at the Rose in Vale Hotel in Mithian | David & Gemma

Wedding at the Rose in Vale – I met David & Gemma and Gemma’s parents at the Rose in Vale a few weeks before the wedding as they live in London. We walked around the grounds talking about photographs and timings etc and I noticed that Rose in Vale had a new sphere lounger in the garden, I thought could make a really cool photograph after the first dance.

I met Gemma and her bridesmaids at Gemma’s parent’s house where Penny was in full flow putting on everyone’s makeup. I loved that Gemma had sourced some matching Kimonos for all the girls to wear. I think they looked amazing in the pictures.

Time flew so fast in the morning that it wasn’t long before everybody was jumping in the wedding cars and off to the church, which wasn’t too far as Gemma’s parents live about 1 mile away.

Having not photographed at the Perranwell church I popped over the day before and it was lovely to catch up with Anna from Wedding flowers in Cornwall. On the day the ceremony was stunning with some beautiful moments for me to capture. Afterwards we headed out for the confetti shot. We actually blocked the road and had a convoy of tractors waiting to pass. Funny as the driver of one of them was an usher at one of my other weddings.

With everyone heading to the Rose in Vale hotel to consume some bubbles and canapes we headed to the gardens for some photographs. Then we headed back to the guests to start the wedding breakfast, followed by some funny speeches.

After the first dance, before it got too dark, we headed out to the garden to make use of the pod, with a joke about me being in the photo I rested my camera on my bag and jumped in for a quick selfie with the happy couple.
