Behind the scenes – One of the wettest wedding proposals in Cornwall
In 2024, I started capturing more behind-the-scenes footage of the proposals I photograph, giving couples (and those planning their own proposals) a deeper look into how these incredible moments come together. From the careful planning and anticipation to the raw, unscripted emotions of the moment itself, these videos offer a whole new perspective on what it feels like to be in that life-changing moment.
One standout behind-the-scenes moment was a proposal at Trebah Gardens—which, without a doubt, was the wettest proposal I’ve ever photographed! Watching the video, you can see the dramatic shift in weather, with a huge downpour hitting just minutes before the proposal. Thankfully, the couple came prepared with an umbrella, though I wasn’t quite as lucky! But, as with so many unpredictable proposal moments, the rain only made it more magical. Within 15 minutes, the clouds parted, the sun came out, and we were able to capture some stunning golden-hour portraits that felt like the perfect reward after braving the storm.
For 2025, I’m excited to continue capturing more behind-the-scenes moments, using my GoPro and Insta360 to bring you an immersive perspective. These videos not only highlight the incredible landscapes Cornwall offers but also showcase the raw emotions—the nervous excitement before the big moment, the surprise and joy as the question is asked, and the pure happiness that follows.
