Wedding at St Mawes Castle
Pete and Bec’s wedding at St Mawes Castle started with me at the Idle Rocks hotel, taking some groom preparation photographs of Pete getting ready. Pete is a huge Bmx’er and had some lovely gifts from Bec including a Nixon watch which I was very jealous of, but also a homemade book of memories from when they first met to date, which Bec had spent ages making. Pete & Bec actually got married on their 11th anniversary of being together which is pretty amazing.
Bec’s family had the stunning Tregwylan house for the wedding week and you couldn’t have asked for a nicer place for taking bridal preparation photographs. I blended myself into the background and let the girls get ready before they jumped in the ‘Lola’, one of Strawberry leisure’s vintage VW campervans to take them around St Mawes town then up to the castle.
The wedding ceremony in the castle was beautiful with everybody holding a tear or two back.
After the wedding ceremony we headed out of the castle for drinks and canapé’s but the Cornish weather took a turn for the worst, with gust of wind even taking Bec’s vail off. This meant we had to delay the group shots till after the speeches when the weather had picked up.
Befor the wedding breakfast Bec’s brother who is a musician, played/sung a couple songs for Pete and Bec, which took full attention. Then as a surprise her niece also showed off her skills on the guitar.
After the wedding breakfast we had some beautiful speeches then after the rain had stopped we nipped outside to make use of the dramatic sky. After the first dance the dance floor was packed with everybody dancing and enjoying the night away. Then we made our way back up to the castle to get one last shot with the castle in the background before I left.
As usual here is a selection of some of my favourites from a wedding at St Mawes Castle. Please feel free to share on social media, or leave a comment.
