St Michael’s Hotel Wedding
Ceremony | Truro Cathedral
I was delighted when Ray and Georgina booked me for their St Michael’s Hotel wedding as not only is it a beautiful venue but it’s not every day that you get to photograph a wedding ceremony in the very prestigious venue of Truro Cathedral.
Georgina stayed over at the St Michael’s Hotel the night before so they were in mid make up when I arrived. Looking out of the window at some pretty awful weather didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits.
I left the St Michael’s slighter earlier than normal so that I could capture some big wide shots of the Cathedral. I had spoken to the verger at Truro Cathedral at the rehearsal the night before about being allowed access to the gallery above the entrance.
During a beautiful ceremony we even had Georgina’s daughter sing a couple of songs with her music teacher playing the grand piano while the bride and groom signed the wedding register.
We headed back to St Michael’s hotel hoping that there would be a break in the weather, which there was so we moved out onto the decking for some quick group shots while the sun was out. After the wedding breakfast we had some lovely speeches from the bride’s father, the groom and two friends of Georgina then everyone prepared for the evening’s casino and first dance.
As usual I like to finish on a dramatic photograph, at the last St Michael’s Hotel wedding I used the front lawn and some flashes, so this time I found a little hut round the side for a shot to finish Georgina’s wedding album.
As usual here is a selection of some of my favourites from Ray & Georgina’s St Michael’s Hotel Wedding. Please feel free to share on social media, or leave a comment.
