Award winning wedding photographer in Cornwall
Award winning wedding photographer in Cornwall: After a very busy summer I thought I would enter a couple of images in to the Societies Swpp (Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers) competition. I entered two of my favourite images from weddings over the summer and won two highly commended awards in Wedding traditional & Wedding avant garde.

Highly Commended Awards in Weddings Avant Garde Category
I had this image in my head for a while but had never had the chance to use it at a wedding. This image was photographed using a 13second exposure to make the sea have that smokey effect. Full credit to Hannah who climbed over a lot of rocks due to the tide being out.
Brides words about the image : “It was clear that Paul was intent on not only capturing the day in his reportage style, but also wanted to offer something unique which led to the amazing imagery of myself and husband on the rocks at Little Fistral. It’s no secret that my intended was reluctant to have a professional photographer to capture our wedding day as he felt family members could do a fair enough job! (You can see why I married him!) but relented on seeing that image, saying Paul’s fee for capturing the day was worth that shot alone!”
Highly commended Award in Wedding Photojournalistic
80% of my day at a wedding is photographing in a documentary style, capturing moments like this. I love the moment that Joannes father is giving a ‘thumbs up’ approval when being asking if he allowes Marc to take Joanne’s hand in marriage. This image has proud and place in their huge 14×10 inch album, filling a full page.
Brides comment about my image: “This photo really touched my heart.
It was really important for my dad to give me away, and this was the moment where he gave his approval.
My dad has been through a lot and is recovering from a stroke so this was an extra special moment.”
