Sarah had an idea to create a Dream Wedding Auction specifically to support Ella’s memory by giving a local couple the chance to win a dream wedding. By getting local Cornwall based wedding suppliers on board to donate prizes to the auction for free, the Charity, winners and companies could only benefit from this amazing auction.
The winning entry was judged not just on the amount bid, but on what the wedding would mean to the couple.
Ella’s memory launched by Martyn and Emmillie Selley in 2009 after losing their second child, have raised more than £15,000 to overhaul the Royal Cornwall Hospital’s Daisy Suite, which helps grieving parents come to terms with their loss.
This was my first Trevenna Barns wedding and what a great location with amazing views over the Cornwall countryside.
Both Chris and Georgina had set up a surprise for each other without the other knowing. The first surprise was for Chris’s, as they walked down the aisle for the first time as husband and wife, Georgina had arranged for The Star Wars theme tune to play. Chris thought this was amazing as he is an avid fan.
The second was the song for the first dance. In a covert operation Chris had had a number of singing lessons and recorded a cover of the King of Leon song – Use somebody, which Georgina found out as they were about to start their first dance .
”Paul was generous enough to donate his time to the Ellas Memory charity auction, which my wife and I won. It was an amazing day and I could not imagine having had anyone else be our photographer; he was discrete, well prepared and quick off the mark in catching special moments others might miss (the ‘just married’ picture that he posted for us during the reception was brilliant!).
I work as a Media Lecturer at Truro College, so can appreciate photography from a theoretical and practical perspective – on both fronts Paul is a skilled practitioner, with a great eye for composition and subtle enhancement (although on a slightly envious note, I very much covet his camera & lenses).
In short, I cannot emphasis how personable and professional he has been over the last 10 months; and cannot recommend him highly enough”.
