Top 10 Cornwall Wedding Venues
If you are getting married in Cornwall and can’t find the right setting for your wedding I’ve put together a list of Top 10 Cornwall wedding venues for ceremonies and receptions to suit all styles. Ranging from stunning Hotels along the Cornish coast, to rustic Barns in beautiful woodland to breathtaking Castles.
(top 10 is not a ranking and done in alphabetical order)
1,The Alverton Hotel
This beautifully unique, Grade II listed, 50 bedroom hotel has stood on its hillside setting since 1830 within the Cornish capital city of Truro. Surrounded by mature gardens with exquisite double AA Rosette food and exceptional service it makes the perfect wedding venue. Though, don’t take my word for it – The Alverton Hotel has won numerous wedding awards, including Best City Venue seeing off the likes of The Gherkin in London and Queen’s Hotel in Cheltenham.
Did you know that their Great Hall was designed by the same Architect as Truro Cathedral? With a high vaulted ceiling, marble staging and grand stone pillars it provides the most breathtakingly beautiful backdrop to your big day.
2, Boconnoc House
If you are looking for a Cornish country estate wedding, then Bonconnoc House in South East Cornwall is the perfect place for you. The main house and grounds offer its very own quaint church and spectacular private parkland which you could spend a day walking around talking magical photographs. The House caters from small intimate weddings in the Garden room or large weddings held in a marquee in the beautiful lawn outside the main house. Boconnoc House is a wedding venue that will give your wedding the Wow factor.
3, Carbis Bay Hotel
If a beach wedding venue is where you are considering getting married, then the Carbis Bay Hotel situated in the quaint coastal town of St Ives would be perfect for you. On the hotel’s doorstep is its very own Blue flag, golden sanded beach which gives you a Mediterranean feel, and the perfect backdrop for amazing wedding photographs. While enjoying your wedding breakfast with family and friends you can take in the stunning panoramic sea views from the beach club. The Carbis Bay Hotel boasts its very own Spa which is perfect for the bridal parties to relax and prepare for the wedding day ahead.

4, Greenbank Hotel
For couples looking for timeless elegance, impeccable service and breath-taking sea views, The Greenbank Hotel in Falmouth is the perfect wedding venue. With sweeping views across the historical harbour and out across Flushing, brides and grooms can expect the most dramatic wedding photos. With a small tidal beach, The Greenbank is the only hotel in the south west to have its own private pontoons and moorings, so you can arrive by boat, sail around the bay for your drinks reception, or cruise away together as husband and wife.
There are three venue rooms to choose from at The Greenbank – The Sundeck (seats 22 people) for intimate celebrations, The Water’s Edge Restaurant (seats 48 people) for chic receptions, or The Riverbank Suite (seats 120 people) for larger gatherings. They are all are just metres from the water and The Riverbank boasts its own balcony and private facilities for guests. The hotel prides itself on its exceptional team, from their experienced Wedding Manager Jane and the talented kitchen brigade, to their cocktail makers and waiting crew. Executive Chef Nick has created several award-winning menus to choose from, but the team can also create tailored menus of your favourite dishes.
The Greenbank was originally built in 1640, making it Falmouth’s oldest hotel. It is rich in maritime history and there are nods to bygone days throughout – be it boats from captains who have stayed, Florence Nightingale’s entry in the guestbook, or quotes from Wind in the Willows (Kenneth Grahame found inspiration for his stories here.) As a wedding gift to the happy couple, the hotel provides a wedding night stay in a luxury harbour view room and exclusive rates to guests too.

5, Nancarrow Farm
Nancarrow Farm is nestled in a hidden valley on the outskirts of Truro. Nancarrow, a working farm, offers exclusive access to their beautiful barns for civil ceremonies and wedding receptions that cater for smaller intimate weddings or larger weddings of up to 130 guests. Whatever the weather Nancarrow Farm has it covered, if the Cornish sun is shining you can opt to have your wedding outside, or you can use their newly opened (this year) restored hay barn with exposed beans and rustic interior.
I’m in the process of blogging a wedding at Nancarrow but here is a sneek peek to the wedding.
6, Pendennis Castle
With sea views in every direction Henry VIII’s 480 year old Castle is a dream wedding venue. The soft lighting inside the rugged Cornish granite Castle Keep makes every wedding ceremony romantic and magical. Drinks and photographs can be taken outside in the private ramparts of the Chemise, making the most of the amazing views. There are so many opportunities for great photos around the grounds before dinner and a disco in the Edwardian Royal Artillery Barracks. Where else can the Pendennis Castle wedding team fire a 7 metre long WWII gun to announce dinner?

7, The Star Hotel, Isles of Scilly
The Star Castle Hotel is located a short walk from the centre of St Mary’s harbour. You can arrive by plane from either Newquay or Lands End, or take the journey via boat which is a couple of hours. The Star Castle offers panoramic views around St Mary’s showing off its white sand beaches. This is a magical place to get married which has a sub Tropical feel
The conservatory located in the Castle’s gardens is spacious, to fit up to 40 wedding guests. It has a very intimate feel with its low beams, grape vines growing overhead and a glass roof with windows that allow lots of natural light.

8, Trebah Gardens
One of the most beautiful wedding venues to get married in Falmouth, Trebah Gardens offers intimate civil ceremonies up to 40 guests in The House. It boasts breath-taking views of the Sub Tropical gardens and Helford River. It’s a beautiful wedding venue to photograph as you have so many options for photographs through the Tropical gardens. The gardens finish at the bottom of the valley where you are met with a private beach which gives you a huge variety of wedding images.

9, Trevenna Barns
Trevenna must be one of the busiest wedding venues in Cornwall hosting almost 2 weddings a week and you have to book at least one and half years in advance to reserve your wedding date. Having photographed 11 weddings at the venue I can see why it’s so popular. The gorgeous setting of the barns provides is perfect for couples who wish for exclusive use of the wedding venue. Trevenna Barns set in 142 acres of the Cornish countryside which is a wedding photographers dream to capture unique wedding photographs.
