St Mawes Castle Wedding Photographer

St Mawes Castle

St Mawes Castle was built between 1539and 1545, The clover-leaf shape was originally surrounded by octagonal outer defences. St Mawes was designed to mount heavy ‘ship-sinking’ guns, and together with its sister castle at Pendennis, it defended the approaches to the Carrick Roads, one of the largest natural harbours in the country.

The Castle can cater for small intimate weddings as well as large parties which can take place in a marquee.  You can even integrate one of the canons with the wedding marquee to create a stunning feature, but also have panoramic windows to make the most of the breathtaking views across the water. This makes wedding photography at St Mawes Castle near Falmouth one of my favourite places to photograph.

St Mawes

Being a St Mawes castle wedding photographer you are spoilt with stunning views across the estuary towards Falmouth and Pendennis Castle. St Mawes is a beautifully small fishing village with a picturesque harbour located at the end of the Roseland Peninsula . The harbour has a yachting fraternity and St Mawes boasts three boatyards with numerous moorings and anchorages for visiting yachtsman in and around the Roseland Peninsula.  Just a stone’s throw away there is St Anthony’s lighthouse which lights the entrance to the Carrick Roads, and keeps ships clear of the infamous Manacles. St Anthony’s lighthouse is famous as the location for the filming for the children’s television series Fraggle Rock in the 1980’s.

As usual, here is a selection of some of my favourites from St Mawes Castle. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch for a chat about your St Mawes Castle wedding photography requirements. Please feel free to share on social media, or leave a comment.
