Marquee Wedding Photography by Paul Keppel who offers Brides the very best in Marquee wedding photography in Cornwall and Devon.
Marquee wedding photography has to be one of my favourite settings for photographing weddings. Having previously worked in the marquee industry for a number of summers I have been involved in building hundreds of wedding marquees over the years.
In Cornwall you can pretty much have a marquee wedding anywhere, from castles like St Mawes overlooking the Falmouth estuary, to rural landscapes and country houses like Boconnoc house, Trereife House, or small intimate weddings in people’s back gardens. I particularly enjoy photographing marquee weddings that have amazing views of our Cornish coast line, like Gonwin Manor near Carbis Bay St Ives.
The special aspect of a marquee wedding is that it’s totally bespoke unlike a hotel where the fixture and fittings are set in place. This gives the brides and grooms the opportunity to put their own personal stamp on the wedding and make it unique.
The interesting thing about the marquee wedding photography is that it presents different styles and budges from those in hotels. I do like the rustic/vintage feel of a traditional canvas marquee that has coconut matting, hay bales outside and bunting hanging from the main pole, you can also have the very clean and stylist feel to a cleanspan marquee with a purpose built level floor, linings, LED lighting, leather sofa chill out areas. Both of these are very different styles that result in amazing marquee wedding photographs.
